Who Needs Lab Reports? You Do.

Just about the time you thought it was safe to assume you had escaped chemistry class, here we come along. We promise we will make it worth it.

Seriously, there is a reason High Plateau posts every single third party laboratory analysis we have run on our website where you can read them to your heart’s content. Lab analysis assures you that what we are telling you about our CBD oil products is transparent and truthful. We want you to know exactly what you are getting in every bottle of total sphere, full aerial plant parts wide spectrum hemp oil bottle of goodness you get from us.

You will notice there are some really big bars on some of the graphs, and tiny ones on others. It can be a little confusing until one thinks about the fact that Cannabis, or hemp as we like to refer to it, has over 485 different compounds that have been identified in it. There are over 200 terpenes alone, the compounds known for imparting a great deal of the fragrance and taste in hemp. You know terpenes a lot better by the smell of a particular flower or tree, or even what is cooking on your stove. Terpenes are powerhouses for health and a big part of the entourage effect found in hemp.

Various strains or cultivars as they are really known have different amounts of those different compounds. Things like soil nutrients, the amount of sunshine, temperature, how many hours of light versus dark, and how much moisture was available for the plants as they grew all makes a big difference in whether one terpene or cannabinoid is higher in concentration than another. (We asked if singing to the plants made any difference, but no one has gotten back to us yet.) Scientists vary on how many of the terpenes they think are the common ones in hemp, and the number ranges from 20 to 40. On top of all those amazing terpenes, you have cannaflavins (flavonoids), phenol, all the cannabinoids, and other good stuff. Some of those compounds are present in great quantity, and some in tiny amounts.

That does not mean those miniscule amounts are to be ignored, however. Itty bitty makes for great big results when they work together to achieve things in your endocannabinoid system, helping you meet your wellness goals. That working together is the famous entourage effect that researchers are so excited about. The easiest way to explain the entourage effect is all the parts make up the whole, and help make you whole. Guess we better get back to talking about chemistry, though, since that is why we dragged you down here to read to start with.

HPN has been perfecting proprietary strains of hemp that are high in cannabidiol (CBD) and as wide a spectrum of the other compounds that occur naturally in hemp as possible, all while breeding out high 9-delta tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. THC is the cannabinoid that gives the user a psychoactive response, or euphoria (that is the nice word for getting stoned). All hemp utilized for our products has well below the federal mandate of .03% THC or lower. There is no way you can get “high”, “stoned”, or anything close, on any HPN product. You might get really relaxed, happier, and feel less pain and inflammation, however, and that is better all around*.

Researchers are discovering new information daily about how the various compounds in hemp may help in a wide range of ailments. Already approved and in use for rare forms of epilepsy, there is a strong indication that a wide spectrum CBD oil may be helpful with anxiety, pain, inflammation, PTSD, depression, weight issues, intestinal challenges, high blood pressure, and even cancer. There are studies going on for many more issues ranging from Parkinsons and Alzheimers to sleep apnea, diabetes, addiction issues and IBS. Who would have ever guessed all that goodness can come out of the hemp plant? Pretty amazing when you think about it. We are excited to see what else they find out it helps, as new research is coming to light every day.

A lot of the work being done requires wrapping the scientific heads around the term “entourage effect”. The entourage effect is the symbiotic relationship that appears to exist between the compounds in hemp, how they combine in what quantities, and what effects they produce to affect what issue. They do this by cannabinoids binding with the human endocannabinoid system, the “message carriers” for neurotransmitters. CBD helps the body get what it needs, with the right signals, to the right part of the brain, and does so without addiction, side affects, or allergies.

When you start to read up on what ails you, you will find information about the various things researchers are finding certain cannabinoids, terpenes, and cannaflavins help with. The information is changing and growing rapidly, so check back often at our Terpene Profile chart, Cannabinoid Chart, or elsewhere in our Learn menu. You will probably see the name of a number of compounds you see registered on our Lab Analysis reports. High counts and big colored blocks are good, plus lots of little guys.

It is important to us here at HPN that you know what you are getting. We have every single batch of high grade, organically grown and produced CBD oil tested by an independent, qualified, third-party laboratory. You will notice the statistics vary by strength and date, which is as it should be. Every batch will be slightly different due to the above mentioned conditions, but thanks to our proprietary strains and consistent processing geared to retain the best of everything we can, you get wide spectrum, organic, healthy CBD oil products every time.

Check out the lab reports. You might find some really fun information there to reference on the Terpene chart in particular. You will be amazed at how much those smells have improved your life in more ways than you knew.

You have our word on that.
